Volunteer Training Schedule

CASA will be holding our next Advocate Training class beginning February 11th 2012 @ CASA Office

Training is by invitation only, please submit an application to be considered. Below is our training schedule:

Williamson County CASA Training Schedule - February 2012

(30 Classroom Hours + Mandatory Court Observation)

  • Session 1: Introducing the CASA Volunteer Role & Session 4: Understanding Families- Part I
    Saturday, February 11th- 9:00 am- 4:00 pm (Lunch Provided)

  • Session 2: Law, Child Protection System and the Courts
    Tuesday, February 14th- 9:00 am – 12:00 pm (Meet and Greet with Current Advocates to follow)

  • Session 3: Developing Cultural Competence
    Thursday, February 16th - 5:30 pm – 8:30 pm (Dinner provided)

  • Session 5: Understanding Families - Part II & Session 6: Understanding Children
    Saturday, February 18th - 9:00 am– 4:00 pm

  • Session 7: Communicating as a CASA Volunteer
    Tuesday, February 21st - 5:30 pm– 8:30 pm (Dinner Provided)

  • Session 8: Practicing the CASA Volunteer Role - Gathering Information
    Thursday, February 23rd - 5:30 pm – 8:30 pm (Dinner Provided)

  • Session 9: Practicing the CASA Volunteer Role - Reporting & Monitoring & Session 10: Pulling it All Together
    Saturday, February 25th - 9:00 am – 4:00 pm

  • Court Observation & Tour of Juvenile Court
    Tuesday, February 28th- 9:00 am – 12:00 pm

  • Graduation: Swearing In Ceremony!
    Tuesday, February 28th - 1:00 pm at Williamson County Juvenile Court

Training will be held in Franklin, at the CASA Office
